Mary Agnes Healy - Lincoln KS

Mary Agnes Healy, 96, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Lincoln County Hospital. She was born September 12, 1914, to Daniel Richard and Minnie (Mary Josephen McQuillan) Healy in rural Vesper, KS. Formerly of Salina, she had been a resident of Lincoln Park Manor since October, 2007.
Over more summers than she could count, she was bookkeeper for the Goldenrod Elevator in Goldenrod, KS, which was owned by her father until it was sold in 1968.
For 20 years, beginning at the age of 13, she was organist for St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lincoln, KS. She stated that three church organs had to be replaced during that period because of so much use.
Her education career spanned 46 years. She taught in rural and public schools in Barnard, Dorrance, Lincoln and Salina until her retirement in 1979. Mary Agnes was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Delta Kappa Gamma, AAUW and SRTA, and a life member of the National Education Association and KRTA.
She was preceded in death by: brothers Vincent R. and Daniel S. Healy; sister Joan Healy Eckhart; infant sister Rose Mary Healy; nephew Michael Healy.
Survivors include: sister Kathryn (Don) Wright of Topeka, KS; nephews Daniel (Lana) Healy of Lincoln, KS, Kirk (Debbie) Healy of Bowie, TX, Kevin Healy of Belle Plaine, KS, David Healy of Washington, DC, John (Kathy) Eckhart of Wichita, KS, Mark (Jeana) Eckhart of Lincoln, KS, and Patrick (Brenda) Wright of New Market, AL; nieces Heidi (Randy) Bradford of Tecumseh, KS, Betsy Healy of Placentia, CA; six great nephews; seven great nieces; four great-great nephews and four great-great nieces.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 1-7:00 P.M. at Hall Funeral Home, with family receiving friends 5-7:00 P.M.
The funeral will be Friday, April 1,10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lincoln, KS, with viewing prior to the service in the gathering space of the church. Msgr. Hake will officiate.
Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
