Leonard Steinberg - Lincoln KS

Leonard Herman Steinberg, born to Carl Reinhold and Emma Caroline (Hendes) Steinberg on their homestead in rural Lincoln County on July 21, 1925, passed away on March 23, 2011. He attended Upper 12 Mile School and graduated from Beverly High School. He was a Hereford cattle farmer for over 50 years. During that span he was President of the Lincoln County Farm Bureau and of the Lincoln County Hereford Association, and was a member of the American Hereford Association. He was the recipient of the Kansas Banker's Award by the Lincoln County Conservation District in both 1950 and 1992. Watching baseball games was a favorite pass time. He moved to Lincoln Park Manor October 24, 2006. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Lincoln, KS.
Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother, Alvin.
Surviving him are two nieces, Barbara Wolford and her husband, Bill, of Lincoln, KS; Karla Lero and her husband, Jim, and their three children, Carl, Jacob and Katherine, all of Topeka, KS.
Visitation - Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 1:00-7:00 P.M. at Hall Chapel, with the family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
Service - 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Westfall, KS.
Interment in Beverly Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
