Lana Sue (Reinking) Healy, 67, of Lincoln, KS, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, in Lincoln.She was born September 29, 1949, in Salina, to Clifford and Reva (Greenway) Reinking.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Victor Reinking.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Daniel Healy, of the home; son, Jason (Sarah) Healy, of Port Byron, IL; daughter, Heather Healy, of Coralville, IA; brothers, Jerome (Nancy Riley) Reinking, of Parker, CO, Paul (Merilyn) Reinking, of Tescott, Glenn Reinking, of Tescott; grandchildren, Daniel, Marcella, Helen, Johanna and Heidi; and many nieces and nephews.

Lana graduated from Tescott High School in 1967 and then completed cosmetology school in Salina, KS. She married Daniel Healy on December 26, 1968, in Gulfport, MS.

Lana was dedicated to her faith. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1963 and later converted to Catholicism. She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church for almost 50 years and served the parish in many ways, including music, meals, cleaning, catechism instruction, and flower care.

Early in her marriage she lived in Gulfport, MS; Little Creek, VA;  and Danbury, TX. Upon returning to the Lincoln area, Lana worked at Florence's Stylette until the birth of her first child. Soon after, she started a more than 30-year career as a home daycare provider, during which she created a loving environment for over 100 children. She helped operate the family farm by hauling grain and managing the bookkeeping.

Lana enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Dan and Lana enjoyed cruising in the Caribbean with friends and family. One of her most treasured roles in life was being Grammy to her five grandchildren. She found great happiness in being part of all their special moments and milestones and travelling wherever needed to see them often.

She loved flowers and found joy in nurturing the plants at her home, the Catholic Church, and the community garden. She enjoyed the assistance of her brothers and other family and friends as she completed a large expansion of the church flowerbeds in 2012.

Lana fought an inspirational battle with cancer for over 13 years. She put her life in God's hands and trusted in his plans for her. She hoped to be a positive messenger for others who faced a cancer diagnosis. She was strengthened by the prayers and help of friends and the community through her many years of procedures and treatments. 

Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Family present 5-7:00 P.M.

Service: 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Lincoln, with interment following in Lincoln City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or Lincoln Carnegie Library.
