Donald White, Sr. - Lincoln KS

Donald Ray White, Sr., 76, of Lincoln, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Lincoln County Hospital, after an 18 month battle with lung cancer. Donald was born in Lincoln, on June 4, 1939, to Henry White, Sr. and Mamie (Ashton) White.

He attended school in Lincoln and continued his education in the field of welding at North Central Kansas Area Vocational Technical School at Beloit.

Don was a maintainer operator for Lincoln County for 42 years and retired in 2007. During his life, he was also employed by the City of Lincoln and Quartzite. He also hauled rock for the construction of the Wilson Dam.

Don loved spending time with his family and loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He kept his children close with his daily phone calls. Don passed his "White" humor to his children and grandchildren. He looked forward to attending the White-Ahring reunion every year.

Early in life, Don liked to build hot rods, with his favorite being the 1932 3-window Ford. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life, he got great joy from watching the Discovery, National Geographic, and History channels.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Henry ("Hank"), Keith, Joseph, Alvin ("Pete"), Charles and infant Allen White; sisters, Claudia Griggs, Betty Holl and Edna Meyer.

Left to celebrate his life include: his wife of 29 years, Mary Jo, of the home; sons, Donald (Connie) White, Jr., Ricky (Lisa) White and David (Brenda) White, all of Lincoln; daughters, Debra (David) Duffey, of Redfield, KS, Lynn (Scott) Banta, of Wichita, and Debra Jewell, of Charlotte, NC; sisters-in-law, Esther White, of Gervais, OR and Tracy White, of Keizer, OR; brother-in-law, Harvey Griggs, of Salina; grandchildren, Anthony (Heidi) White, Tiffany White, Nathaniel (Ashley Dixie) Collins, Natasha (Tom Reifschneider) Reed, Nicole (Tim) Brown, Joseph Duffey, Jacob Duffey, Sunnie McBride, Ashley Boyle, Matthew Hanson, Erica Rahmeier, Daniel White, Michael White, David M. White, Josh (Cortney Sherman) White, Jessica White, Isaac Banta, Rachel Banta, Naomi Banta, Katia Moreno, Sasha Moreno, and Danya Moreno; great-grandchildren, Tyler Boose, Kaitlin Pattison, Brittany White, Lainie White, Jasper Collins, John Reed, Victoria Reed, Andrew Reed, Tyler Reed, Dillon Reifschneider, Austin Collins, Nick Ragan, Makenzie Brown, Abigail Brown, Owen Brown, Lillie Brown, Paige McBride, Carisa McBride, Ayden McBride, Taleiya Collins, Joshsha Collins, Izaac Hanson, Tate Gabelmann, Jaxson White; one great-great-grandson, Maxximus Boose. Also surviving is Judy Tripp, his first wife and mother of his children.

Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 12, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Family present 5-7:00 P.M.

Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 13, at Lincoln Community Church. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to VFW Post #7938, Lincoln County Humane Society, or Tammy Walker Cancer Center of Salina.
